The Answer Is Not The Answer.

April 20, 2009 · 4 Comments

When I first became a Christ follower, I was overwhelmed with answers; answers to questions I wasn’t even asking.

That made me believe that God would choose, through Scripture, to answer all of my questions.  I was wrong.  As time went on, something beautiful happened; not having all the answers was OK.

Normally when lacking an answer to a burning question, we tend to become concerned, frustrated, doubtful.  The amazing thing is that the closer our relationship becomes with Christ, the less we demand an answer.  God’s presence seems to bring a peace even when we lack an understanding.  We become content with the fact that He is God and we are not.

For most of us, this doesn’t happen overnight.  It takes a number of life experiences and faith challenges.  Living through the let downs and tragedies of life while asking ‘Why’, ‘What’, ‘How’ and not getting a clear answer is anything but easy.  And yet, we do get the answer – Jesus.   He may not always give the answer we think we are looking for but He will always walk with us through whatever comes our way.

What questions are you asking that you haven’t found an answer to?  Maybe the answer is not the answer.  Maybe the answer is simply, Jesus.
